Cultivate—the Latest Church of our Presbytery

In a joyful gathering at Kirk o’ The Valley in Reseda, our Presbytery chartered its most recent church on Sunday, November 13. The special occasion included reports from different work committees, worship, the ordination of new elders, and the first Session meeting.

As its name indicates, the church’s vision is to provide a space for leaders of various worshipping communities to grow as participants in the shared life of our Presbytery. Special thanks to Teaching Elders Dave Wilkinson, Rich Poole, and Nick Warnes for the outstanding work done as part of the Administrative Commission. Ryan Brown will serve as the Moderator, Eric Chen as Clerk, and Jesse Pickott as Presbytery Commissioner. In addition, some of Cultivate’s members are being nominated to serve on committees of Presbytery.
Please hold them, elders, and members in prayer as they pursue God’s call.

Among the participants was Dr. James Lee, president of the International Theological Seminary, which has developed a program that will be available for members of Cultivate to pursue the academic requirement towards becoming Commissioned Ruling Elders.

We thank God for this very significant expression of vitality and the many ministries it will make POSSIBLE.
