HOW DID IT BEGIN?
For thirteen months a small group of people would get together in the homes of its members. Always praying and hoping for a permanent place, because for us the church facility is the house of God where we feel a spiritual and ministerial identity.
THE LOCATION OF THE NEW CHURCH
The Antelope Valley is a geographical region in Southern California with a Hispanic population of 475,000, of which 48% speak Spanish. It is distributed in 35 small cities, the larger ones being Lancaster, Agua Dulce, Little Rock and California City.
We firmly believe that God, in His plans propriated everything in His time and will to start a new Spanish speaking church.
We also believe, that we, as a Presbyterian church, are an excellent option for Spanish speakers to get to know Jesus as their Savior through our ministry and by joining us, forming the Presbyterian Las Americas Church in Lancaster.
INAUGURATION
The church began meeting unofficially on August 8th of the current year. We have met eight Sundays presenting inspiring and instructive topics with challenging sermons such as: An Encounter with the Crucified Christ, Living Every Stage of our Lives According to God’s Plan and Faith to Do your Duty.
We hold our services in the chapel of the Lancaster Presbyterian Church.
The church is located at 1661 W. Lancaster Blvd, Lancaster, California 93534.

AGENDA & PROGRAMMING
We begin every Sunday at 5pm due to the time and space availability.
The program is designed for a total time of one-hour and thirty-minutes.
Our services have some contemporary and traditional aspects.
Pastor Jose Felix Acosta preaches most Sundays. He has had three guest speakers.
FINANCES
In each service tithes and offerings are collected which range between $250 and $350 per service.
We have assigned Veronica Quiroz, a person from our congregation these administrative and accounting responsibilities.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Brenda Acosta is the Children’s Pastor.
She teaches them through Bible-themed stories and interactive games.
FELLOWSHIP
After every Sunday service we have fellowship with a snack. It is part of our culture to spend time together around a table talking and sharing food.
Our sisters in Christ, Yolanda Solis and Edith, lovingly prepare food for us to enjoy in Christian fellowship.
OUR ACHIEVEMENTS
Two believers got baptized.
We have had two services where communion was served.
WORSHIP
Our church expresses it’s worship with contemporary music and songs. We also express our worship through traditional hymns.
Every Sunday we have different groups from the church of Los Angeles.
We are careful that the message of the hymns correspond to the theme of the sermon and the cover of our bulletin.
OUR CHALLENGES AND PRAYER REQUESTS
- We want to encourage and motivate all the members of our congregation to attend the services.
- We would like to have space to store our supplies.
- We would like to acquire musical instruments and sound equipment.
OUR PLANS
- Evangelize- We will reach out to the Hispanic community in Lancaster, on Saturday October 9th, to let them know about the gospel and invite them to join us in worship.
- Continue with services every Sunday.
- To hold the official opening of the church on Sunday November 7th.
- To officially welcome Reverend Jose Felix Acosta as a member of the Presbytery on Sunday November 7th.
